Old Fashioned Vacation #5: Horse-Drawn Wagon

I could wax eloquently on about what made this particular adventure so timeless and old fashioned, but I suspect I’d be wasting words.

Let it suffice, then, for me to say that on our old fashioned vacation [ages ago] last summer, we did the following . . .

(AND. IT. WAS. AWESOME.)

We made some new friends.

Our new friends.

Our new friends.

Our new friends offered to take us for a ride.

Who wants to go?

Who wants to go?

We said, “YES, PLEASE!”

Note the big, cheesy grin.

Note carefully my big, cheesy grin.

On our leisurely horse-drawn(!) wagon ride we enjoyed good company and picturesque scenery.

Picturesque.

Picturesque.

Scenery.

Scenery.

I love Eastern Oregon.

I love Eastern Oregon.

We had a marvelous time . . .

All smiles.

All smiles.

. . . with pop ice at the end for us . . .

Yum.

Yum.

. . . and a satisfying roll in the dirt for our new friends. (Definitely the most entertaining part of my day.)

Our heartfelt thanks go out to Kathy and Randy Vernam for taking us on an adventure we won’t soon forget, and to the talented Sarah Bomberger for sharing all the lovely photos and video that fill this post.
